Experience

Elyce here,
The weather minus a very overcast sky was absolutely gorgeous today.  It was really quite comfortable to be at the park.  Now, these aren't going to win any awards and frankly, I was just enjoying the experience of being out and working my camera.  These are good technically, but I think otherwise boring. But, practice makes perfect, right?

I'll be honest, I should have further post edited this one further in Photoshop. I was just lazy.  :P

Sunset

Elyce here,

Just wanted to post a couple sunset shots I took a few days ago.  They're not fantastic, I just like them.  They're grainy, out of focus, and just fun.

Denton on the Square

Elyce again.  We went down to the square today, down in Denton.  I wanted go play around the courthouse and just see what there is to see.  I think the day turned out quite well, actually.  I didn't get nearly as many out of focus shots this time and was again in full manual mode.  I'm quite pleased with the lot.

Ryan took his camera, too, but he has a headache tonight and hasn't gotten them to me so I just thought I'd go ahead and post mine for now.  It was actually really interesting to see the same subject taken by two very different styles and approaches.

Courthouse clock

Of the keepers, this is the only one that's out of focus.  Ticked me right off.

This is part of a mural painted on the side of one of the shops off the square.  I wasn't able to get the artists signature in the shot I wanted, but you can find the full mural image at the artists website: http://www.mickburson.com/

I love this old truck.  Ryan got some really neat shots of it, too

so neat.

Close up on the truck.  I had to get a close up on "Dallas".

Super subtle post editing on this one.  I didn't really do much to it.

A few post editing changes and playing this time around. Tried somethings I haven't before.  And another addition is the watermark.  I figured I might as well tag them.  Even if they're just for practice and learning, they're still mine and I'm proud of them.

Overall, I think it was a really productive day, photography wise.  I feel good about my progress.  Can't wait to get out again soon!

Like a Boss

I just couldn't help myself.  This fat little squirrel was as still as a statue and let me walk all around him.  He's just chilling on a branch like a boss.

love it.

Murrel Manual Romp

Elyce here!
Sorry, it's been a while since a post but, like everyone else, we're busy people!  We finally were able to get out and take a nice walk and I attempted a shoot in full manual mode.  A little ambitious, I think.  While I did get a few pictures I liked, I didn't quite get the quality I wanted.  As much as I tried, everything just seemed to be just a little out of focus and it's driving me absolutely mad.  I have got to figure this out.  So, let me share a few that I think turned out alright, minus the out of focus problems:

This one has the least amount of oof issues, but I'm not thrilled with the rest of it, lol

There was a better shot of this that was more in focus, but it wasn't as close as this one and I liked the close up.

The colors are a little muted, but overall, I like this one.  Again, oof.

My favorite tracker.

you know, I'm not sure why I included this one.  I'm kinda eh over it.

Ryan was sitting on this tree split.  I was just certain it was going to crack and break, lol

Over all, it was a nice time and they didn't come out all bad, just wish more where in focus.
